SINAPSIS
Sonar +D

Instalation
Visual Design

2024
This project was developed by a group of alumni from the Master's in Audiovisual Innovation and Interactive Environments, together with students from the Audiovisual Design Degree at BAU.

SINAPSIS is an immersive interactive installation that explores the balance between body and mind. Using Leap Motion sensors, participants' hand movements modulated sound frequencies, which were then transformed into specific sounds played through speakers. These sounds generated symmetrical patterns and drawings in water, offering a unique sensory experience. With three interaction points, multiple participants could create these visuals simultaneously, creating a collective yet personal experience. The installation aimed to evoke both a sense of isolation and connection, heightened by a central totem linking all participants.

The installation was showcased at Sónar+D, the section of the festival focused on technological innovation and scientific exploration, from June 13th to 15th in the Global Lab section.
